Windsor is also actively involved in acquiring Brownfield Properties with various issues and geographies. Brownfields are abandoned or under-used industrial and commercial facilities available for re-use, expansion, or redevelopment of which may be complicated by the presence of hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants. Cleaning up and reinvesting in these properties takes development pressures off of undeveloped, open land, and both improves and protects the environment. Through remediation these properties can be brought back to an active productive use. We work with leading consultants to responsibly and expeditiously create work plans for approval by the appropriate agencies and once approval is given Windsor is there to execute the plans immediately. Below are some examples of the depth of our “hands on experience”.

"Elkton Fire Hole", Triumph Explosives Company
The site, previously a munitions manufacturer during World War II, was also used as a testing ground for rocket engines. We are proceeding with removing unexploded ordinances, volatiles, and organics.

"Dwyer Property", Triumph Explosives Company
The site will be remediated of hazards from the fireworks and munitions manufacturing facility also an investigation to locate the numerous UST’s is underway. The site shows remnants of trinitrotoluene based explosives, volatile organics, chlorinated solvents and inorganic contaminates in the surrounding ground water.

Tri-State Trucking
The site was purchased as is, since then we have removed 6 UST’s and soil contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons. The site has received a NFA (no further action) letter from the state of Maryland.
